The Drawbacks of DLST
I'm taking 10 minutes today to update the old blog-ola. It's been forever. Since the last posting, the World Series ended in a sad way with the Detroit Tigers getting bumped out by the St. Louis Cardinals. It was so fun to see how into Miss B became. She even worked on her smack talking and baseball terminology. She's more of a sport-o than she seems to think. I just love how riled up she gets when something exciting happens and she claps, talks to the TV, all that good stuff. Oh that Miss B. I sure do love her. Too bad the pitching staff for the Tigers didn't take some of her advice. They sure needed it.
What's the deal with daylight savings time. I get it. Understand completely why we do it. But that doesn't mean I have to like it. In the fall it's not so bad. The extra hour of sleep works for me. However, I did awake at 0700 on Sunday morning bright eyed and ready for the world. Miss B was not. So that meant I hung out with the cats until she woke up and we went for a run. The rest of the world seemed completely off. On our way over to Golden Gate Park for our Sunday run, we drove past tartine at 0930. Usually no one is on the streets. We make our way without disruption. However, in looking at the business of the bakery, everyone thought it was 10:30. There was a line 1/2 way down the block and I am not exaggerating, at all! Everyone looked so confused. Why am I here so early? What is going on? And I woke up starvatious. Getting the body onto the new time clock will be a struggle. But is unavoidable. And before you know it, we will be going to work in the dark and coming home in the same state. Oh DLST, how you mess with me!
Best moment of the weekend (and there were several!): going to Ocean Beach with Miss B and watching the sunset with a bottle of wine, cheese, and crackers. It was a beautiful day! Hot and Indian Summer-like. Around 3pm we got sick of doing mundane chores, packed up the car with the lawn chairs and off we went. We watched surfers, skim boarders, and kids playing in the sand. There was no fog and so warm. What a great afternoon spent with the best gal on the planet. We got all giggly and then had to wait a while after the sun went down to go home because I was a little tipsy. The rain will be starting later this week so it's good we got this in when we did.
We found a place to get married! Did I write about this before? It is the Inn at the Willows in Guerneville. We are renting the place out and are having an adult reception. Now we just have to work out the logistics and other details like food, drinks, and where the heck to put everyone. I am sure it will all fall into place and we are both looking very forward to sharing our special day with friends and family. What fun! Right on the river! Yipee! Save the date--June 16th. More details on that to follow.
Work is still completely insane. Things are going pretty well but I just don't feel like I can keep up very well at times. There is just so much to keep track of and updated on! I am not sure if I can keep up this pace for more than a couple of years. The gray hair has been popping up all over the place!
Speaking of which, I need to eat some lunch and get back to work. Be well!
