Wireless At Last! Wireless At LAST!
OK, so this isn't as monumental as the Free At Last speech MLK gave many years ago but it does feel almost as freeing. Have been struggling with a new work computer and after 3 hours on the phone with our CIT group as well as a very nice young technician with a love for orange cats stole it on Friday to work on, it is finally up and working. However, with the work which has been done on mine has now caused Miss B's MAC to be kicked off our Linksys system. Our neighbor Kevin has given us a few tips and hopefully she will be back in the game as well. Never realized how cool and freeing wireless is until you don't have it. The things ya get used to I guess. This new work computer has taken some getting used to compared to the other 15 pound one previously. It's a little HP PC traveler and just tiny. It will do.
Had a lovely morning of yoga. Miss B and I have been going to the 2-3 level class on Saturdays just for a change of pace as well as take our practice up a notch. In the regular class it is always jammed packed with folks so working on things like hand stands, head stands, the more difficult poses, just doesn't happen seeing as there isn't room. We also get extra attention from the teacher which is an extra bonus. With the assistance of Miss B, I got up into a full on hand stand and then held it independently which is new. (Well, independently with the wall!) Core strength is increasing and something that growing up as the fat girl never existed previously. Feels good!
Then it was off to the Pork Store Cafe for an amazing crab scramble with east bay gal LD. Hadn't seen her in oh so very long and we got to hear all about her new girlfriend and how she's found a functional relationship! She's very happy and things are going calmly well, something new for her. Congratulations and shouts out to east bay LD. We also had mango mimosas. How yummy were they? VERY! I was super sleepy for my haircut after but who would have thought mango + champagne = tasty! Not me! On the way home from the haircut I just happened to wander into Streetlight Records over in the 'Stro and picked up the new Yo La Tengo and a collection of R.E.M of their IRS years. Listening to YLT right now! They are coming to the Fillmore the end of October and I am so there! Love them. This afternoon it's off to the Wildside to hang out with some of Miss B's teacher peeps and see what happens.
The FEDS showed up at the Jelly Doughnut factory two weeks ago and haven't left yet. This means being to work by 0630 and coming home at 1830. Every morning I have to wander around the plant ensuring extra inspection readiness, clean up, and tell folks what to do where. It's been good in that it gets me out there checking up on Jelly Doughnut production on a very regular basis and gets the jelly doughnut makers to talk to me a bit more. Seems like they are a bit less scared than previously which is good. The FEDS will be there next week as well so it will be more exhaustion and alert levels in the red. Also next week is the 30th anniversary of the factory and word on the street is that Black Eyed Peas and The Eagles are going to play. Also rumored is Paul Simon. The concert will be in this be parking lot. Kind of ghetto but who else gets to have a party on a Monday with food, alcohol, and rather high end musical entertainment. Not Mega-Mart. So I guess the Jelly Doughnut Factory isn't so bad after all.
Posted is a recent photo from Mistycan's birthday. I like it. Hope you do too.
