Weddings Rock!
Hi! To see the full album of pictures feel free to check out the link listed here for now. These are pictures thanks to DJTed of Bagel Radio. Thanks Ted! Becky is working on getting the ones our official photographer snapped (thanks Kate!) uploaded to flicker but until then, this is what I have to share:
This is a rare photograph of my father. I don't recall him smiling a whole lot when I was a kid and it's amazing to have on film now. He just looks so happy. Robyn and Kate got some really great shots of him relaxed and smiling in his white undershirt at the Sunday brunch. It's priceless really. Also included is a shot of the dancing for the evening. The mix on the play list was so fantastic! We gave A the list of songs we wanted to hear and she put it all together so well! Everyone loved it and I do not think I left the dance floor more than one or two times and that was simply because my bladder couldn't handle it anymore. The last photo was post ceremony and we hadn't quite talked about how we were going to end it. Walk down the aisle? Walk to the side? Simply clap our hands and say "I'm out!". So Becky just looked at me, then the gathering of guests, giggled, and said "Let's have a party!". And that we did.
We did take a few days and went camping in Tahoe. It was H-O-T hot! We picked a lovely camping spot on west Lake Tahoe. Fortunately, we arrived before the big burn and no, we were not the ones who started the fire! We did two big hikes. One was atop Mt. Tallac where we planned on reaching the summit however got a late start to the day and ended up doing a 1,700 feet ascent for a total of 8 miles round trip. Did make it to Gillmore Lake which is a snow melt lake and it felt so good to dip our feet in after the trek up. Next time we will take the alternate trail which is steeper but not as lengthy. The next day we did a 4.5 mile hike to Vikingsholm where some loaded lady in the 1940's built her own Scandinavian village next to the lake. It wasn't nearly as difficult but just as pretty. What a trip to see Norwegian castles in the middle of California. Camping was great too! We cooked our usual food and drank beer around the campfire each night. Nothing like smores and beer. Even splurged one night and had champagne which was super yummy! Eventually we made it back to San Francisco for PRIDE week. Went to some gay movies, did the Dyke March, and just hung out with friends. A good weekend out. And a great month of June!
Post wedding it has been nice to have a whole lot of nothing to do. We no longer have to run around buying alcohol, finding wedding outfits, figuring out caterer stuff, we can just be. Don't get me wrong, it was totally worth it but having time to relax has been wonderful! Have been taking it day by day and it's good. One other thing that has been great is that Miss B has not been teaching this summer. She took the whole summer off with the exception of some contract work for OTF later on next week. This means I have a cook, maid, and housewife all wrapped up into one. I have not had to clean or pack my own lunch this whole summer. I could get used to this all the time! But it will soon be coming to an end as we move into the close of her summer vacation. Sure was fun while it lasted! We also have our yearly jaunt to Provincetown coming up and it will be so relaxing. This year we have maxed out on the number of people, that being 8, to fit into our little beach bungalow. Although all attending have passed the approval tests which were established from last year following the fall out from the drunken pill popping madness witnessed last year. There is a plan to sage the house before we settle in for the week.
